Peer Review Process
Publication of articles in the Mathematics Journal of Modeling and Forecasting depends solely on scientific validity and coherence as judged by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a valuable contribution to the field. Mathematics Journal of Modeling and Forecasting acknowledges the effort and suggestions made by its reviewers.
The Editor will first evaluate all manuscripts submitted. Although rare, it is feasible for an exceptional manuscript to be accepted at this stage. Manuscripts that are rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, or fall outside the aims and scope of Mathematics Journal of Modeling and Forecasting. Those that meet the minimum criteria are passed on to experts for review. Check the similarity score using Turnitin.
Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two to three experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it duplicates already published works, and whether it is sufficiently clear for publication. The method is a double-blind peer review.
Reviewers are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:
- Is original by stating the objectives and gap clearly
- Is methodologically sound
- Follows appropriate ethical guidelines
- Has results/findings which are clearly presented and support the conclusions
- Correctly references previous relevant work
- Reviewers are not expected to correct or copyedit manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer review process.
The Editor will make a final publication decision using feedback from the peer review process. The review process will take approximately 2 to 4 weeks. Decision categories include:
- Reject - Rejected manuscripts will not be published, and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to Mathematics Journal of Modeling and Forecasting.
- Resubmit for Review – The submission needs to be reworked, but it may be accepted with significant changes. However, it will require a second round of review.
- Accept with Revisions - Manuscripts receiving an accept-pending-revisions decision will be published in Mathematics Journal of Modeling and Forecasting if minor/major modifications are made. Revisions will be reviewed by an editor to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
- Accept – Accepted manuscripts will be published in the current form with no further modifications required.
Reviewers advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. The Editors will reach a decision based on these reports and, where necessary, will consult with members of the Editorial Board. The editor’s decision is final.
